Rev. Paul de Vries, PhD.
Ever since I was 12 years old, I have been driven by a love for God, a love for all people, and a love for all of the Creation. A childhood life-transforming encounter with the One Living God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – redefined the way I beheld, behaved, and believed. Then throughout my teen years I averaged two hours a day studying and memorizing Bible chapters – and seeking to live those texts through compassion for others, civil rights action, leading interactive Bible studies, and achieving excellence in school. With my dear wife Vicki, by divine grace we have raised children (and we now help raise grandchildren) who share this deep love of our Lord, people, and Creation. Our Christian Clergy International seeks to multiply this Gospel-walk as the progressive, vibrant, and virulent life with the living, loving Lord that it is.
Also, facilitate proliferating this Godly-passion and Gospel-walk, to I have led in founding the University of Virginia’s Office of Volunteer Community Service (now called Madison House), Wheaton College’s Center for Applied Christian Ethics, the NY Divinity School and the
7 Word Wonders language-arts-empowerment-Bible-engagement program. Proliferating Godly-passion and produce has also fueled my work on numerous governing boards, including the International Christian Youth, National Association of Evangelicals, the New York State Chaplain Task Force and our intensely relevant, timely Christian Clergy International.
A fresh awakening and work of the Christian Church is so profoundly needed now – beyond denominations, personalities, preferences, and prejudices. In the present divisiveness of our worlds and neighborhoods, only the Gospel can deeply heal and restore people and communities. The men and women whom the Lord Jesus Christ is already ordaining for ministry should be recognized, affirmed – and also further educated, equipped, and empowered. Our Christian Clergy International is a ready tool in God’s hands for these intensely relevant, timely purposes.
Hallelujah!
